Welcome to our school website. At Strathesk Primary School we are committed to providing the best possible school experience for the children and families in our community. We have a strong focus on Health and Wellbeing and have nurturing approaches firmly embedded in everyday school life and learning. We see each pupil as an individual and we embrace diversity and celebrate excellence and achievement. We value effort as well as success and aim to encourage all children to fulfil and exceed expectations. We have a supportive, happy staff team with a great sense of fun, which in turn makes learning fun for our children.
At Strathesk we believe that ‘Learning together benefits all’ and we aim to make strong, positive links with parents, carers and the local community ensuring children feel a sense of belonging and stability.
‘A school where every child is provided with learning opportunities of the highest quality which nurture their ambitions and where pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential academically, physically, socially and personally.’
Strathesk Primary School opened in 2008 and saw the coming together of Ladywood and Eastfield Primary Schools and Strathesk Nursery School. Strathesk is a non-denominational primary school with fourteen classes and a nursery. We have an established Parent Partnership who support the life and work of the school and meet regularly with the Head Teacher to share ideas and help to drive school improvement. We are very lucky to have such a lovely school in the heart of the community with such beautiful views to the Pentland Hills.
Strathesk is one of four primary schools in the Penicuik Associated Schools Group, along with Penicuik High School. We have strong links with our neighbouring schools and regularly work together to develop our learning community.
We hope you enjoy browsing our school website.
