The children in primary 1 have been taking time out of class to draw portraits of our staff for our school website. 3 of the children were given the task of drawing Mrs Donaldson… here are the budding artist showing off their talents.

Growth Mindsets

We are looking at the work of Carol Dweck and Growth Mindsets. Below is a link to a video which may help you to understand what Growth Mindsets are and how you could use these techniques with your children at home.

GLOW

Over the coming weeks your child will be learning to use GLOW in school and will be given a username and password to allow them access to this secure site. Teachers and pupils will use the resource in the best way to support learning in their classroom. It is a great way of accessing educational support materials, communicating with others and submitting work online.

Ski Trip

Some of our children will be heading to the Highlands for an amazing weekend of skiing this Friday. Hope you all have an amazing trip and a big thank you to Mr Howie and Mr Cameron for arranging the trip. Lets hope there is plenty of snow!

Scots Night

There are still a few tickets left for the big event of the year! Come along and celebrate all things Scottish… This Wednesday night from 6pm.
Tickets £1.00 per child and £1.50 per adult. A great family event with something to suit all ages.

Nativity

Primary 1, 2 and 3 have been working hard on their acting and singing skills to bring together this years Nativity Performance. The actors in Primary 2 are performing a ‘traditional’ Nativity and are helped with singing from Primary 1 and 3. Primary 4 are also performing some Christmas tunes with our school choir master Mr Armstrong. Be sure to come along and support us. Tickets are on sale now!

Scots Night

Our annual Scots night will take place on Thursday the 22nd of January. A fun event with all the traditions of a proper Burns Celebration. A great opportunity for our children to learn about Scottish History and traditions… maybe even sample a few Scottish delicacies!

Last day of Term

The last day of this term will be Friday the 19th of December. Both pupils and staff return on Tuesday the 6th of December. Merry Christmas to you all from the Staff and Pupils at Strathesk primary School.

Christmas Lunch

To get us in the mood for Christmas, Christmas dinner will be served to pupils on Wednesday the 10th of December. Turkey with all the trimmings as well as a few alternatives are on offer!

Nativity

Primary 1, 2 and 3 will be taking part in our annual Nativity. Dress rehearsal is on Thursday the 11th of December and then the performances to parents will be on Monday and Tuesday the 15th and 16th of December. Be sure to book your tickets!
